Prayer Room Guidelines

During Soaking Times – Waiting on God

My soul waits for the Lord, More than the watchmen for the morning; INDEED, MORE THAN the watchmen for the morning       (Psalm 130:6)

  1. Find a place and posture that suits you either in the large room or the glassed in room.
  2. Sit, lie down, walk about quietly, use the flags if you do it without distracting others
  3. Wait on God
  4. If you want to know how to do that, there is a guideline sheet of suggestions of how to posture your spirit to wait and hear from God.
  5. Please be considerate of others and not get loud. You can pray audibly in a quiet way, but do not bring attention to yourself, so others can focus on God and enter in.

During Corporate Intercession Times

Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven       (Matthew 18:19)

And when they had prayed, the place where they had gathered together Was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak the word of God with boldness       (Acts 4:31)

  1. Follow the leaders who have taken time to discern for the meeting
  2. We are always open to anything the Lord may be saying. There will be time given to share and submit words. When we start to have several words come with the same focus, we believe God is speaking as it is confirmed through two or three witnesses.

If it is your first time, we ask that you be considerate of this as the direction can be distracted and we want to be obedient to the Holy Spirit and what he wants to focus on in each meeting. We all have our personal focuses and even other focuses (city, or nation, or nations) which are all very important, but during a prayer meeting with a certain focus, we need to lay down those issues for the higher corporate purpose that the Holy Spirit is directing for that specific moment. Also, we may know how to do that, but even in each meeting, there may be certain targets that are on His heart and we need to lay down that which we think is a “good” target of prayer that even fits with the focus, but which may be a human idea of what needs to be prayed for.

We are trying to catch the vein of what God wants prayed for in each meeting. God’s heart, not good ideas. There is a specific timing in God’s plans for everything. If we just try to put everything into one pile, it may be human understanding and hinder the higher purposes of God. We are trying to be discerning of what is on God’s heart for each meeting. God wants us to be like the sons of Issachar who knew the times and seasons of God and knew what to do.

Please feel free to email us during the week if you are getting something from the Lord. If you are one who faithfully attends a certain prayer meeting, we believe you will be hearing from God as you are waiting on Him during the week. These emails will help us in discerning focus for the prayer meeting. Don’t hesitate to email.
  3. If there is an open time given to pray and declare, stay on the focus. Don’t be overly long unless the Holy Spirit is blowing on it.
Personal Ministry
As people come from different churches, we encourage you to get personal ministry as much as possible in your home church/ family setting.

At the House of Prayer, we want to mainly focus on corporate issues, for the city, nation and nations.
Offenses
Mark 11:25 "Whenever you [Matt 6:5] stand praying, [Matt 6:14] forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father who is in heaven forgive your transgressions.”

You are welcome to be here at the House of Prayer. However, we want to remind you of the above scripture. If any of us have undealt with offense against a person, or church, or in any way in our hearts, God does not forgive us. He especially reminds us of this when we are posturing ourselves to pray.

How do we deal with offense? To be effective, we need to repent of unforgiveness, judgment, bitterness and resentment. We need to forgive those that have hurt us, and to have a generous spirit toward them and press in for healing where it is needed. Sometimes these things take time. Soaking in His presence helps the ground of our heart to soften.
